OTTOnomy is a unique initiative that works in the Balkans to repair a social fabric sundered by legacies of communist oppression, post-communist conflict, and continuing social and economic instability. Starting in Albania, OTTOnomy will promote the public welfare by saving an historical monument and bringing it back to life as a self-supporting Regional Center for Arts, Culture, and Education.

Goals

  • Bring films, artists, musicians, and performance groups from around the region together to
    promote the exchange of culture through the arts;
  • Create a vibrant cultural center with expositions, lectures, workshops, and master-classes;
  • Establish a civic media center with open-access library and reading room, internet, and
    database resources;
  • Work on a social business model to promote cultural heritage tourism, local artisanal
    production, and economic resiliency.
